Programs Team Member
This position supports our lifesaving mission by administering our main community programs, including our Help Desk, Affordable Vaccine Clinic, and Affordable Spay/Neuter Clinic (SNYPS).

- Able to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment under sometimes tight deadlines.
- A strong problem-solver who can focus on finding solutions to problems and challenges.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (especially Word, Excel & Outlook). Comfortable learning and using online information systems.
- Affectionate toward animals, concerned for their welfare and willing to accommodate animals in the workplace.
- Willing to provide routine medical care to animals including vaccinations, administration of medication, and basic health checks.
- Enthusiastic and supportive of the no-kill philosophy.
- Able to take initiative to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Mature with emotional regulation, good judgment, and demonstrates a professional personal appearance.
- Able to read, write and understand English. Spanish/English bilingual a huge plus!
- Familiar with animals, and knowledgeable of animal care and behavior, including the care of neonatal kittens and other special needs animals. Experience working with animal welfare organizations is preferred.
- Comfortable with and able to work with animals of unknown disposition and those who may exhibit medical and other problems, as well as aggressive tendencies.
- Able to provide a valid Nevada state driver’s license with no record of convictions.
Job Type: Full Time $15-$17/hour
Responsibilities Include:
- Returning and tracking calls/emails within 24 hours of receiving them.
- Providing resources and assist the public with behavior resources and financial resources.
- Assisting the public with locating the correct agency to assist with their needs i.e. wildlife rehabilitators, Washoe County Regional Animal Services.
- Assisting with the surrender process by providing surrender packets and transferring completed paperwork to the Animal Care Manager.
- Tracking and following up on Maddie’s Pet Assistant surveys for adopted animals.
- Working with manager and teammates to update and create resources.
- Assisting clients with scheduling appointments.
- Printing, preparing, and filing paperwork.
- Checking in clients for their appointments, confirming personal information of pets and owners, and assisting with selection of age/species appropriate vaccines.
- Checking out clients using our Clinic HQ software, updating client’s profile to reflect vaccines, current weight, and personal information.
- Printing proof of vaccines after appointment and when clients request.
- Training volunteers to assist with check-in and greeting.
- Placing reminder calls 2 days prior to appointment to confirm needed paperwork, vaccines, and appointment information.
