The SPCA of Northern Nevada is celebrating this weekend with “Not a Father’s Day” by honoring their male rescue pets who are all fixed and are “not fathers!” All male senior pets (age 7+) will be free to adopt and all adult (ages 1-6 years) male pets will be 50% off. There’s no better time to adopt your new best friend than this weekend!
The organization is holding the promotion in order to raise awareness and help the homeless pets who are living in the Adoption Center. June is typically a slow adoption month, yet rescue pets need the community’s support year-round. With this adorable celebration of fixed pets who are hoping to find loving homes of their own, the SPCA of NN encourages the community will come out and adopt, give, and volunteer.
This directly saves pets like Sysco who need loving homes now. Sysco is a 7-year-old senior male lab mix who recently underwent knee surgery. He is currently recovering in the Adoption Center. He’s an energetic pooch who was rescued from Silver Springs, Nevada, in January of this year. He is free to adopt this weekend! He desperately needs a nice, quiet home where he can lounge with a loving family who will pamper him and make sure his knee gets some TLC.
If people prefer females, the SPCA of Northern Nevada is full of beautiful ladies of all shapes, sizes, and ages, too! These gals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated and would also love to find a home this weekend. Pets like Sheba – a 2- year-old Shar-Pei/Husky mix who’s almost as cute as she is affectionate.
Without the community’s support, the pets in the SPCA of Northern Nevada’s adoption center could be sitting for months, waiting to get picked by a family. On average, from rescue to adoption, the length-of-stay for homeless pets at the SPCA of NN is about 14-18 days. Let’s keep that momentum up and help some of the longest staying residents get adopted!
