Maple was found abandoned outside of a farm in Lassen County. She was the only survivor of her litter, and in desperate need of medical attention.
She was taken to our partners at Lassen County Animal Shelter, who immediately notified us of her arrival.
They watched over her as we dispatched our transport team.

Upon arrival, we rushed her to our clinic, where she was delicately inspected. Her eyes were still shut and her tiny paws trembled.
Her little heart was beating, but she was very, very sick.

Our programs manager bottle-fed her every two hours, while applying a warm compress to her eyes. Our medical team prescribed antibiotics and watched closely as she clung to life inside an incubator.

We promised her that as long as she didn’t give up, neither would we.

Little by little, we watched as Maple transform from a tiny, frail newborn into a bouncy, energetic kitten.

She blossomed in her foster home, where she received round-the-clock care and an abundance of love and attention.

And through all our efforts, today, Maple is enjoying life with her foster-turned-adopter.

It’s only thanks to supporters like you that kittens like Maple can have the chance to live.

This fall, a group of generous donors has offered a match of up to $50,000 in life-saving funds!

This is our biggest match yet and we need your help to reach our goal.

Please give between now and Giving Tuesday, November 30, and your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact of your generosity.
