Volunteer and Help Save Lives

SPCA of Northern Nevada volunteers donate their time, compassion, and talent to make every day special for the animals waiting for their loving homes. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and help fulfill our mission within the adoption center, thrift store, and in the community.

Please note that we require all humans that volunteer in-person to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. As a community-minded organization, we want to keep our team and community as safe as possible.

We are excited to announce we have restructured our Adoption Center volunteer program to better benefit the pets in our care! We are now requiring that all volunteers, returning and new, contribute 10 hours of animal care chores before training (or retraining) to work directly with our pets.

Minors must be at least 8 years old to interact with the cats, 12 to interact with the dogs, and 13 to help at our Thrift Store. Minors under the age of 16 must always volunteer with a parent or guardian present. Minors aged 16+ are able to volunteer without a parent/guardian present with prior written approval from their parent/guardian.

No training is required to volunteer at our thrift store!

Thank you for considering donating your time and love to the SPCA of Northern Nevada!
