Looking up at you with puppy-dog eyes, full of affection and hope, Brooklyn will make you fall in love with her from the moment she enters your world. She’s a 4 year old Doberman mix who first came to us as an owner surrender by a family who could no longer care for her. That was in August of 2017. Since then, Brooklyn has been living primarily at the SPCA of Northern Nevada Adoption Center – spending each day hoping to find a new loving home.
Playful, Brooklyn loves tug of war. When you walk by her temporary home here at the SPCA, you will see it is full of toys. Our volunteers have also found a few dogs that Brooklyn enjoys playing with! She can be dog-selective, meaning she chooses to only have a few friends and sometimes does not get along with other dogs. (She’s told us that she is also not fond of cats.) Unfortunately for Brooklyn, it seems like just when she makes a friend here at the SPCA, her friend gets adopted. You see, our average rescue-to-adoption stay is only about two weeks. Brooklyn has been with us for about 9 months. It’s high time she found love of her own!
Brooklyn, the way she loves, plays, and clearly adores people, has made her a staff and volunteer favorite. That’s why her adoption fee has been covered! When we can find the right match for Brooklyn, she can go home without an adoption fee.
Brooklyn is beautiful, personable, and so very deserving of a great home. She has a medical condition that will require her to take one pill per day (these pills are not expensive, we send her home with a two week supply, and she takes the pill easily each day), but is otherwise an amazing pet. Our adoption staff will be happy to discuss Brooklyn’s personality and medical condition with you in full detail if you are interested in learning more about this incredible rescue pet. Please give them a call at 775-324-7773 or come in person to meet her! We are located at 4950 Spectrum Blvd in Reno and are open each day from 11 am to 6:30 pm.
