Animal advocate. Kitten Nanny. Proud pit bull mom.
Nicole grew up in Santa Cruz, California where her involvement in animal welfare started at an early age. As a child, her family would rescue stray pets as well as trap feral cats and kittens to have them fixed. Her family would research community programs to ensure these animals received the affordable means of treatment and care they deserved. Nicole’s upbringing was also heavily influenced by nonprofit work, and she experienced first-hand the importance of volunteers and community involvement in solving public challenges. Nicole graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Education: Behavioral Sciences.
Nicole joined SPCA of Northern Nevada in 2020 as part of the Programs Team, starting as a Team Lead, then Supervisor, and now as an extraordinary Manager! Nicole loves working for the SPCA-NN because of her commitment to empowering families in the community to care for their beloved pets. Nicole is grateful to be a member of the SPCA-NN family because it fuels her passion for providing affordable resources and compassionate services through education and awareness to strengthen the animal-human bond.
When she’s not at the SPCA-NN, Nicole enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys spending time with her Pitbull, Honey Belle.
