A message from our Executive Director

We are thrilled to present our 2025 Community Impact Summary, celebrating remarkable achievements that made a difference for pets and people in our community.

As we look back on the past year, I am incredibly proud of what we accomplished together—and deeply grateful for our community! Even during a period of temporary closure, SPCA of Northern Nevada remained a steadfast resource for pets and their people. Thanks to your support, we continued to operate essential, affordable community programs, including our affordable spay/neuter voucher program, Todd’s Medical Fund, Pet Helpline, and weekend vaccine clinics, ensuring pets received help when they needed it most.

This year also brought meaningful improvements to our Adoption Center. With donor support, we completed critical HVAC repairs to keep pets comfortable in every season, and efficient renovations to better serve both pets and adopters. One of our most impactful additions is a new Pet Dental Suite, where we can now provide necessary dental care before adoption—removing yet another barrier to adoption and improving long-term health.

Together with Washoe County Regional Animal Services (WCRAS) and Animal Balance, we also hosted a free, three-day community spay/neuter clinic providing free surgeries, vaccines, and microchips to 203 pets! Additionally, we partnered with WCRAS and Res-Queto keep community karma boxes stocked with free pet food, supporting pets and people in need.

And through it all, your generosity shone brightly. Thanks to overwhelming donor support, we celebrated a record-breaking Giving Tuesday, raising more than $223,000 to power lifesaving programs.

Every achievement in this letter is a grateful reflection of your compassionate generosity. Thank you for standing with us, believing in our mission, and helping us continue to put pets first—always.
