In July we went on an emergency wildfire evacuation rescue mission to Plumas County Animal Services in Quincy, California. The Dixie fire was impacting towns in Plumas County, and they needed our help to rescue as many pets as possible.
Because we were so understaffed at the time, Executive Director Jill Vacchina Dobbs stepped up to drive our new transport vehicle, and Development Director Sean Farnan drove a second transport van. At the adoption center, all teams stepped up and prepared to take in the rescued pets.
We drove two vans filled with dogs and cats back to Reno, where they were then taken in by multiple organizations working together to open up much-needed space for Plumas to shelter more animals during the wildfires.
It is only thanks to your support that we can continue supporting our partner shelters , so thank you!
